Since its establishment, the Coudert Institute's Roots and Wings Award of Excellence has been been presented to: Dr. Akbar Ahmed, Drs. Kathryn and French Anderson, Paul Goldberger, Rabbi Hillel Levine, Murray Gell-Mann, Newton Minow, Reverend James Morton and Robert A. M. Stern.

 

The bronze "Roots and Wings" sculpture was created by Palm Beach artist, Dr. Steven Rose. Dale Coudert explained that this sculpture, "represents life when roots are developed through family, education, and environment; eventually evolving into wings of achievement."
