MAXWELL has spent decades navigating the world of galleries, museums, international art fairs, and exhibitions.  In TURNING INTO THE TIMES: THE NEW GENIUS OF ART COLLECTING, Maxwell will apply his multi-dimensional professional background and share his personal notes, thoughts, and insights from the contemporary scene. This dynamic program will blend lecture with audience Q&A and illuminate the nuances of collecting fine art in our modern world.

DOUGLAS F. MAXWELL is a contemporary art advisor and consultant. He was an Assistant Professor of Arts at New York University from 1980-2020 where he taught courses in modern and contemporary art. He taught at the Collectors Institute of the New School from 1978-1983 and was an editor of Review Magazine in New York form 1986-1990. Maxwell is the principal of MAX-ART Advisory services where he specializes in building and advising collections in modern and contemporary art.
